The south-facing aspect of this location makes it ideal as an area where priority will be given to pedestrian enjoyment of the waterside. A sequence of floating piers and connecting pontoons is proposed, designed to provide places to stroll as well as rest in, softened by planting and lawns. The area’s ‘maritime’ feel will be reflected in the use of stone and timber, with street furniture designed to enhance the dockside feel.
